Acer palmatum ‘Twombly’s Red Sentinel’ (Columnar Red Japanese Maple)

An exceptionally narrow Japanese maple that forms a striking red punctuation point for small gardens or anywhere you would like a vertical accent. Discovered as a mutation of the much beloved ‘Bloodgood’ maple. Twombly’s Red Sentinel begins the spring show with a brilliant red and settles to a red-burgundy color that holds well through the summer. Autumn color is a blaze of red and scarlet. Red stems add winter interest. Grows approximately 10’ tall and 3’ wide in 10 years. Full sun-part shade
