This new release sweetbox has glossy, evergreen foliage and snow white FRAGRANT flowers emerging from deep red buds. ‘Winter Gem’ is a hybrid between Sarcococca humilis and hookeriana brought across the pond from Europe. It has the best of both parents with an incredible fragrance and a dense ,well branched, bushy form. This drought tolerant compact shrublet is useful as a low evergreen specimen or fragrant low hedge. Can be used as a groundcover when massed. Low- maintenance and so versatile, thriving in sun or deep shade. It’s always good to have a few bombproof bones in the garden that always look their glossy best! No pruning necessary.
