Ribes sanguineum ‘King Edward VII’

King Edward VII is an exceptionally showy selection of the northwest native Ribes sanguineum currant. Explodes in early spring with brilliant, pendulous, crimson flower clusters. Followed by blue edible berries. A Hummingbird magnet! King Edward offers a more bushy, pleasing, compact habit than other common varieties. Topping out at about 6’ x 4’ Berries can be dried into “currant raisins” and added to salads or made into jams, pies, juices, or syrups. Or, leave them to the wildlife! The birds love them! Hardy zones 4-9 A great plant pic for the PNW. https://wwwgreatplantpicks.org/plantlists/view/1340
