Fuchsia magellanica ‘Purple Mountain’ Hardy Fuchsia
Profuse slender flowers with red sepals and purple corollas play against broody purple tinged foliage. A lovely selection of hardy fuchsia. To increase hardiness plant the crown a few inches deeper as you would a tomato. Provide compost rich humus soil with regular water. Hardy fuchsias grow best in sun-part sun, but don’t flower as well in deep shade. I leave the deciduous foliage as a bit of winter protection and cut back in spring. Be patient, hardy fuchsias are late to start growing in spring. They usually start flowering early-mid summer and are stunners in the fall garden. Ht 4’ Zone 7-9
