Campanula garganica ‘Dickson’s Gold’

Starry deep blue flowers from late spring through summer offer a stunning contrast to the bright golden foliage. Forms a low mat of brilliant, yellow foliage with heart shaped, serrated leaves. Remains evergreen in mild climates. Looks nice spilling from a container or wall. Nice edging or groundcover plant. When happy in loose organic soil and regular water it can spread aggressively outward, crowding out wimpier plants. To thwart world domination, chunk off areas where it oversteps boundaries and offer less than ideal growing conditions. Alternatively, you can harvest the plant to eat. As with all campanulas they are mild-tasting and edible. Best if cooked like any other green. Flowers make a nice garnish. Brighter color in more sun. Chartreuse in shady areas. Perennial. 10” tall. Zones 3-8
