Potentilla atrosanguinea  ‘Scarlet Starlet’

A very compact variety at only 12” makes this little gem easy to tuck into a border front or rock garden. Scarlet red flowers. Basal leaves look just like strawberry leaves with frosted tips. Hiding in my greenhouse and forgotten for a very long time in tiny pots, my partner commented one day that the tray of strawberries always looks super healthy, but isn’t producing any strawberries. Well that’s because it’s a Scarlet Starlet! Drought tolerant, but looks best with regular water and a bit of compost. Deer and rabbit resistant. Sun- Part shade. Zone 5-9
