Rodgersia pinnata ‘Superba’

Massive textural and architectural foliage with maroon tones create garden drama. Performs best with rich loamy soil and consistent moisture in part shade. One of the delights of spring is watching it emerge from the ground like a furry animal and within days, begin to unfurl its large leaves like an umbrella. Airy plumes of rose or cream flowers rise on burgundy stems above the large leaves in summer. Can go summer dormant in hot weather without consistent moisture. Deciduous. Perennial Zone 5-8
