Polemonium caeruleum Jacobs Ladder ‘Stairway to Heaven’

Bold white and green variegated leaves look good all year and the segmented leaves provide architectural presence. Bluish-purple flowers in summer. Leaf tips are pink in cool spring weather. Evergreen, 1 ft. Slowly spreading and self-seeds for a little colony. Likes part shade in moist well drained soil. Delightful addition to a shade garden. Zone 4-8 “Stairway to Heaven’ was selected by Bill Cullina of The New England Wild Flower Society. A good plant for shade or a sunny edge (with adequate moisture). This native groundcover is very popular, and its royalties benefit the Garden in the Woods and their plant and habitat conservation.
