Rubus arcticus L. subsp. x stellarcticus Arctic Raspberry: ‘Sophia’ , ‘Beta’, ‘Valentina’, ‘Anna’

Arctic Groundcover Raspberries are exciting new varieties developed in Sweden at the Balsgard Fruit Breeding Institute. Also called Nangoonberry. They form a dense weed smothering edible ground cover, only 5’” tall and they are thornless. Raspberries are highly nutritious and loaded with antioxidants. This is a low maintenance way to grow your own fresh raspberries. This groundcover raspberry cloaks herself in delicate pink flowers in spring that transition to sweet-tart berries in July. Each plant can produce over 1lb. of fruit per year. The lush green foliage turns red and burgundy in fall and dies back to the ground to slumber until the following spring. No need to prune them. Arctic Raspberries need a cross-pollinator to set fruit. Live in a cold climate and still want fresh fruit? No worries, Arctic Raspberries are cold hardy down to zone 2!
