It acts as an antiviral and inhibits herpes HSVI & HSVII. Useful for tummy troubles and digestive issues especially spastic colon. Cosmetically it’s useful for blemishes and smoothing the complection. It has proven useful as an adjunct in Alzheimer’s therapy. Lemon balm is in the mint family and has a subtle herbaceous lemony scent, lending itself well to teas, cooking and cosmetics. In the garden it quickly becomes a bright bushy mound with a wonderful scent. An herb that asks to be used. Cut it before seeding unless you want lemon balm pups everywhere.
