Calicarpa ‘Pearl Glam’ (Beautyberry)

Spectacular new hybrid with dark purple foliage dusted with a metallic sheen. White flowers in summer quickly transition to luminous violet-purple berries that make your landscape sing. The compact elegant vase shape allows underplanting with other perennials or as a standalone specimen. This is a must have for multi-season interest. Prefers full sun. It handles part shade, but too much shade makes the bush more sparse and leggy. Feel free to prune the whole bush back in early spring to 6” which encourages new wood for more blooms and a more compact form. The berries are edible, but not particularly tasty for fresh eating.
