Clematis macropetala ‘Markhams Pink’

Fully double pink flowers in a generous Spring flush with a repeat in Summer. Award of Garden merit winner for it’s outstanding attributes. macropetala group cjlematis offer exceptional cold tolerance. Pruning: Group 1 clematis. (Flowers early on the shoots from the previous year) Doesn’t need regular pruning but may be pruned if necessary after flowering in mid- to late spring. Trim branches and prune back dead or winter-damaged shoots to a pair of healthy buds. Old congested plants can be renovated by cutting back all stem just above the base, right after flowering. Wait at least three years before pruning hard again. Offer a treat of bone meal or fish emulsion and a generous mulch.
