Salvia guarantica Hyb. ‘Amante’

Amante, is a beautiful hardy salvia that is a color breakthrough. She will rock your summer through fall garden with vibrant fuchsia colored flowers set against dusky black calyxes and healthy green foliage. This is one sexy salvia. Sure to be the talk of the town with your hummingbirds, but the deer will turn up their noses at the anise scent. Nice rounded form 3’-4’ x 3’ with exceptional landscape performance. Hardy in zones 8-10 Hardy to 10F, but also makes a nice annual in colder areas. Easy to grow in compost enriched soil with good drainage and full sun. Quite drought tolerant once established, but looks it’s best with some water during dry spells. Cut back in spring just above new growth and deadhead to encourage a second bloom. Deciduous. Hummingbird MAGNET. Deer resistant.
