Salvia ‘Darcyi’

Exceptionally hardy Salvia thriving at the Denver Botanical Gardens. Salvia Darcyi has sumptuous red- orange spires late summer-frost. Hummingbird magnet! Originally collected by the Yucca Do Nursery from a high elevation mountain range in Mexico. Ht 4’ and spreading to about 6’. Much thanks to my friend Terry who lives in zone 6 and highly recommended this hardy salvia to me. Terry says Darcyi has soared through desiccating winter winds, zero degree temps and blazing hot summers without skipping a beat. My kind of Salvia! I’d provide some nice compost rich soil with good winter drainage in sun to part shade. A good heaping of mulch would be helpful for added insurance where hardiness is questionable. Perennial. Zones 6b-10
