Hypericum ‘Brigadoon’

This beautiful groundcover offers brilliant foliage color for shady sites. Brigadoon has chartreuse-yellow oval leaves with a peachy blush at the edges in winter. Growing quickly to 12”-16” tall and about 2’ wide; it fills in and looks fabulous planted in groups, creating a tapestry of color. Perfect choice for those dry semi-shady areas. This low-maintenance groundcover stabilizes soil and forms a thick weed smothering carpet. The 2” yellow flowers aren’t noticeable against the yellow foliage, but the pollinators will appreciate them. Full sun- part shade. Evergreen perennial zones 5-9

Care: Can handle full-sun in northerly climates, but needs more moisture. Happiest in morning sun and afternoon shade or dappled sun. Part shade in hot summer areas avoids leaf burn. Semi-evergreen, but may be mowed or sheared back late winter-early spring to rejuvenate fresh foliage. Drought tolerant once established, but looks best in evenly moist well drained soil. Appreciates a drink during long dry spells. Very low maintenance when sited well. Looks wonderful when mass planted. Space plants 12’ to form a nice thick groundcover.
