Hesperaloe ‘Coral Glow’
Forms a rosette of frosted evergreen spikes 2 1/2 ‘ tall and 2-3’ wide with coral red flowers and a yellow throat rising to 4’. Although it was common in the landscape when I lived in Az, I rarely see it here in the Pacific NW. It does beautifully well here in our summer dry climate. This is a must have for any hot hellstrip, rock garden or a landscape beyond the reach of the hose. Happy in full baking sun and any soil as long as it drains well. Try planting the crown high and amend the soil if you have clay. Needs little to zero supplemental water in summer. Deer resistant. Hummingbird magnet. Perennial. Hardy down to 0F or Zones 6-10
Hesperaloe plant combo: Try planting it with Cistus ‘Little Miss Sunshine’, Lantana ‘Miss Huff’, Helianthemum as a flowering groundcover and Agave Blue Glow.
