Digitalis ferruginia (Rusty Foxglove)

This exceptionally tall foxglove provides dramatic architectural interest. Tall vertical spires hold pendulous peach colored funnel-shaped flowers with rusty brown spots inside. This perennial foxglove will generously-self seed giving you a nice little colony in a few years. Hummingbird magnet. All parts are toxic, so deer steer clear! Yay. Winner of the Award of Garden Merit from the RHS for its excellent garden performance. Height 3-5’. Sun-shade. Perennial. Zones 4-9 Care: Plop it in compost rich soil in the back of a border or a woodlands edge. Cut off the main stalk after flowering to encourage side flowers to form and extend the flowering time. Cut off all the flowering stalks, but be sure to leave 1 to allow self-seeding , if desired. Relatively drought resistant, but appreciates regular water for best performance.
