Astrantia ‘Burgundy Manor’

We can thank plants-woman Gill Richardson for breeding an exceptional and colorful version of Astrantia ‘Shaggy’ with red-hues. Large dark-red domed pincushion centers with bracts that look artfully hand painted by the fairies. The intricate bracts have port-colored tips adding dimension and the bracts last long after flowering. The firework flowers are held atop burgundy stems and lush green palmate foliage. Plant these along a partly-shady path where you can admire the intricate elegance. Makes a delightful cut or dried flower. Pollinator magnet. Blooms June–August Sun -part shade Ht 2′ x 18″ W Zone 5-9.
