Acer Palmatum ‘Ukigumo’ or ‘Floating Clouds’

Outstanding variegated Japanese maple with brilliant white and cream marbling over light green leaves and sometimes pink tinges in Spring. Older specimens display stronger variegation. Known as the Floating Clouds maple for it’s light airy presence. Excellent choice to brighten a shady area. Especially effective planted in front of a solid dark green backdrop. This unique cultivar is upright with interesting horizontal branching which adds to the elegance. Gold foliage in Fall. Prefers morning sun and shade from hot afternoon sun. Provide good draining soil. May benefit from some water during drought. Sun/part shade Grows to about 12′ Deciduous. Zone 5-9
