Scentlandia Sweetspire Itea virginica ‘SMNIVDFC’

My new favorite multi-season shrublet. Sweetspire is one of the few shrubs that can flower in shady areas. Scentlandia is a new dwarf Proven Winner introduction with white bottlebrush flowers in summer and excellent fall color that holds on until new leaves emerge in spring. Full sun or part shade, deer tend to leave it alone, but pollinators love it. Try these as a low hedge or in groupings for a lovely display. Zone 5-9. As a native it’s easy care and not fussy about soil. It can handle boggy conditions or drought when established. It’s compact refined form needs little to no pruning. Blooms form from the prior years growth, so prune right after flowering, if needed. 3’ tall and wide.
