Rhodolaia Henryi ‘Scarlet Bells’

Want to grow something unique? Scarlet bells Rhodioleia, also called ‘Hong Kong Rose’ is an exciting extra cold hardy selection from high altitude mountains of China. Much more cold tolerant than the species. The attractive foliage is evergreen, glossy and leathery with silvery blue undersides. It has a tall narrow form and grows rapidly to about 14’ in 10 years. ‘Scarlet Bells’ would make an excellent screening plant. Happiest in rich well-drained soil in morning sun and dappled shade. Just be sure to site it where it receives protection from the hot afternoon sun. hardy in zones 7b-10
