Magnolia grandiflora ‘Kay Parris’

Kay Parris Magnolia is a superior new cultivar of the much beloved Southern magnolia. It forms a beautiful evergreen tree with dark green glossy leaves with brown furry undersides. It has a dense columnar form and compact size reaching no more than 25 ft. It also has improved cold tolerance enabling even those in cold climates to enjoy this stunning tree. Throughout summer large white deliciously fragrant flowers perfume the air. The flowers of Kay Parris are larger than its parent ‘Little Gem’. It also has red new spring growth adding another layer of interest. It’s fully hardy down to minus 5 degree fairenheight! May be grown as a large multistem shrub or with a bit of pruning can be turned into a single leader tree. Excellent evergreen screen or back of the border or as a specimen where you can enjoy its fragrance all Summer.
