Francoa sonchifolia ‘Rogerson’s Form’

This wonderful evergreen shade lover is so easy to grow it’s presence should be more widespread in our shady gardens. In summer and autumn long wands of deep pink flowers rise above mounding crinkly green foliage. ‘Rogersons Form’ has a more saturated dark pink color than the usual lighter pink forms. Once established it’s surprisingly drought tolerant. It really prefers shade. One of the few plants that thrive in dappled dry shade or half day sun. Excellent cut flower. A fun fact : francoa is also known as ‘Bridal Wreath,’. The long slender flower stalks were woven and used as bridal wreaths – Super sweet! Summertime fun with the kiddos!
