Farfugium japonica ‘Variegata’

Unique, showy and vigorous. A fabulous shade plant and a wonderful conversation piece featuring big, glossy, round green leaves with large splotches of creamy white and sections of pure white leaves. Sometimes called ‘Tractor Seat’ plant, because the large oval leaves really do have the shape of a tractor seat. Farfugiums are one of my favorite foliage plants and can add so much texture, dimension and interest to a shady garden. Forms a mound of spotty round leaves 24″ wide and topped with numerous 30″ stalks of yellow daisies in fall. Particularly happy where it can be kept slightly moist. May wilt when dry, but still has good drought tolerance. Just be sure to provide good draining soil. Looks amazing paired with large ferns or finer textured plants. Zone 7-9
