Epimedium grandiflorum var. higoense ‘Bandit’(Fairy Wings)

Epimediums make a delightful groundcover for dry shade and those difficult to plant shady areas. ‘Bandit’, welcomes spring with heart shaped leaves artfully edged with chocolate and charming white flowers held well above the foliage. The foliage transitions to deep green in summer.

Prefers well drained soil in part to full shade. Best flowering occurs in morning sun and bright open shade in rich well drained soil. Deer resistant and drought tolerant once established. Excellent used along paths and under deciduous trees. A must have for fairy gardens in the woods! Epimediums are also called Bishops hat, Horny Goat weed, Barrenwort and fairy wings. To me they look like fairies dancing, so I’ll go with fairy wings. They combine well with other shade plants like ferns, hostas, Japanese forest grass, Columbines and Corydalis. Spreads 6-8″ per year by rhizomes. Perennial Zones 4-9

A Great Plant Pick!
