Rumex acetosa ‘Green De Belleville’ (French Sorrel)

Yummy perennial spring green with a tangy lemon flavor. Very popular in Europe. Hardy nutritious heirloom. Used in soups, giving a tangy taste to salads, blended into stews, cooked like spinach and used medicinally as a bronchial aid. Very useful to fill the early spring gap before other annual greens are even planted. Exceptional mild taste when harvested young. Super easy to grow as it’s not fussy about soil and can be grown in sun or part shade. Very slow to bolt. Remove flowering tops to keep leaves tender and to prevent unwanted volunteers. It can become weedy in some climates, if allowed to seed. Try edging a border with this edimental. Hardy Zones 3-9
