Curcuma petiolata ‘Snow Drift’ Variegated Turmeric

Curcuma longa ‘Snowdrift’ is a gorgeous variegated form of the culinary and medicinal spice Turmeric. Each leaf looks like it’s been artfully airbrushed with a dark green center, lime green brushstrokes and a wide white edge. This edible ornamental is showy and useful, with a tropical look. Once established, late-summer will bring 8” white flowers with a pink blush that resemble pinecones. Be sure to mark your plant as Curcuma ‘Snowdrift is late to break dormancy in spring… sometimes waiting till late June or even April to emerge from a winter slumber. Deer resistant. Happy in compost rich loamy soil in part sun- bright shade. 2-3’ tall clumps. Hardy zones 7b-11
