Leucothoe fontanesiana ‘Scarletta’

Scarletta is a glossy and graceful evergreen shrublet with scarlet-purple new growth. The narrow shiny foliage on arching stems offers an Asian aesthetic. Small white flowers in Spring, dark red in Autumn & Winter. Very forgiving of imperfect soil and conditions. Makes a great groundcover or companion to hostas, rhodies and other woodland denizens. Deer resistant and tolerant of wet areas, yet drought tolerant once established. Happiest in part shade. 2’ tall 3-4’ wide. Zones 5-9
