Calluna vulgaris ‘Firefly’ (Scotch Heather)

A color changing wonder through the seasons! Welcomes spring with bright chartreuse and yellow foliage and dark lavender flowers late-summer. The foliage slowly transitions to orange and red until it takes on a spectacular brick red color to carry the show through winter. The foliage remains evergreen and makes a tidy mound. Shear tops in spring to keep from getting scraggly. 1-2’ tall and wide, but expect wider over time. Moist well- drained soil in sun-part sun. Appreciates some shade from hot afternoon sun in warmer climates, but still needs ample sun to show off the amazing colors. Deer resistant. Award of Garden Merit from the RHS for it’s wonderful garden presence! In a crowded field , it’s one of the best! Zones 4-6
