Monarda didyma ‘Blue Stockings’ (Bee Balm)

Violet-blue whorled flowers on tall stems, provide a buffet of nectar to attract hummers, butterflies and honeybees in summer. Powdery mildew resistant. Cut to the ground after flowering and divide in fall every few years to maintain vigor. Delightfully fragrant foliage makes a great tea or can be used in salads, but deer and rabbits find it distasteful. Yay! Give this one some room and she’ll be a feature of your summer garden! Sun-part shade. Drought tolerant, yet looks best with supplemental water in summer. Ht 3-4’ and an expanding clump. Perennial zones 4-9.
