Andropogan gerardii ‘Blackhawks’ (Big Bluestem)

Blackhawks is a regal improvement of a US native prairie grass, emerging deep green with purple tints shifting to deep purple, almost black foliage. There’s an added bonus of purple-red flower stems in fall. This tall, narrow, upright grass provides color, movement, screening and an architectural element to any space. This drought tolerant toughie resists deer and grows easily in most soils in sun. Ht 4-6’ Deciduous. Zones 3-9
