Viola labradorica (Labrador Violet)

Deep purple edible flowers above a sweet carpet of heart-shaped purple tinged foliage. Makes an excellent filler and groundcover. Beautiful between stepping stones. Tolerates moderate foot traffic. Evergreen with green heart-shaped leaves in summer with a purple blush. In winter it’s the opposite, purple foliage with a green blush. Readily self-seeds to form little colonies. All parts are edible and nutritious. 4” tall and sprawling to a ft. wide. Us and Canadian native. Perennial Zones 4-9
