Cestrum newellii ‘Ruby Clusters’

Cestrum ‘Ruby Clusters’ is a vigorous evergreen shrub with a burgundy blush and furry burgundy stems. Blooms nearly non-stop in frost free areas with showy clusters of waxy red tubular flowers and purple-red berries. Hummingbird Magnet! This tropical shrub is tender, but root hardy to 20F and survives our zone 8 climate in a protected sunny spot. This Red Cestrum is an elegant choice in the back of a border or in front of a sunny wall for added warmth. Makes a nice container plant where hardiness is questionable. All parts are toxic if eaten which makes it deer resistant. Arching branches 6-8’ tall x 6’ wide. Full sun and regular water. Hardy zone 8a-11
