Ipomoea batatas Sweet Potato Vine ‘Blackie’

Cascading deep purple foliage adds amazing contrast as the ‘spiller’ in containers or window boxes. Makes a beautiful groundcover, or trailing vine off a wall. Can trail up to 7’ in a season. Related to the sweet potatoes you may grow in your garden… both the leaves and tubers of ornamental sweet potatoes are edible, but not necessarily tasty. But, hey go for it if it’s all you have in a zombie apocalypse! Sun- part shade. Hardy tuberous perennial in zones 10 and above. Annual elsewhere.
