Athyrium niponicum ‘Apple Court’ Fern

Colorful and elegant selection of Japanese painted fern that not only has lovely purple, silver and green markings, but each leaf has interesting crests up the sides and onto the tip of each leaflet. Rather than forming a crown it spreads by rhizomes forming a charming deer-resistant ground-cover in the woodland garden. Originally from Japan, named for the Apple Court nursery in the UK and introduced to the USA by Plant Delights nursery. Zone 4-8 1′ tall
